I spent hours wandering through the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which houses a tooth of the Buddha and is one of the most revered Buddhist sites in the world. I also visited the Royal Palace of Kandy, a beautiful complex of buildings that was once the residence of the kings of Kandy. The palace now houses a museum that showcases the city's history and culture.

But Kandy isn't just a city of the past - it's also a place that's buzzing with energy and life. One of the highlights of my trip was the Kandy Esala Perahera, a colorful and vibrant festival that takes place every year in August. The festival features a procession of elephants, dancers, and drummers that winds its way through the city streets, and is an amazing celebration of Sri Lankan culture and traditions.

Of course, no trip to Kandy would be complete without sampling some of its famous cuisine. I indulged in delicious Sri Lankan dishes like kottu roti, hoppers, and curries that were bursting with flavor and spice. And, of course, I washed it all down with plenty of refreshing Lion beer.

All in all, my time in Kandy was an unforgettable experience that left me with a deep appreciation for this incredible city and its people. I can't wait to go back and explore more of its wonders.
